Mom's Green Fingers

Night Blooming Cereus/Queen of the Night

It blooms only once a year and only for a few hours

It dies the next morning and will bloom again next year :)

Besides cooking, my mom's quite talented in gardening too
For the past few years, Ive seen her grown Chilli Padis, Green/White/Purple Orchids, Lime, Curry Leaves, Pandan Leaves, Oranges, Tomatoes
But I had never seen her grown a Selenicereus Grandiflorus also known as the Night Blooming Cereus or Queen of The Night
Mom told me that this plant blooms only once a year and it'll only bloom on one night
We were there to witness the plant blooming, and its death the following morning !
What surprises me was how the flowers grew
It did not grww from the branch or the stem, it grew from the surface of the leaves !
Amazing
On top of that, it is said that this flower does not bloom if it feels healthy and unthreatened.
It will ONLY bloom in a year if it feels threatened or unhealthy.
Hmm hmm hmm.
And mom told me that this mega-rare flower that mega-rarely blooms is a blessing to the owner that owns it.
She said it brings fortune. Hmm hmm hmm
Where's my maserati ? Hahah
