Casa Verde, 'Green House' in Italian, is a very apt name for the Les Amis Group's outlet nestled amidst the lush greenery of Singapore Botanic Garden.
The place was filled with visitors to the park who wanted to take a pit-stop after taking a long stroll in the park. Most of them who were sitting outside were just having a drink and taking their time off walking.
Minestrone Soup ($7.00)
The minestrone soup was generous with its ingredients and taste. However an additional pinch of salt, pepper and some drops of tabasco sauce would do the soup better :) I do believe that the soup should come with a free-flow baguette bar instead of two triangles of toasted white bread.
Pizza frutti di Mare ($23.00)
Tomato salsa, Marinated Seafood Drizzled with Parsley & Garlic Sauce
The pizza was filled with generous amounts of ingredients but the seafood lacks its juiciness ! I feel that a squeeze of lemon onto the pizza would do it better. Best of all, the dough wasn't thick, or else I would be filled with more dough than pizza filling.
I certainly had to modify the taste of this pizza. Sprinkled lotsa cheese, chilli flakes and tabasco sauce. Oh ! It's thin enough to eat it calzone style and dip it in the minestrone soup.
Spaghetti Marinara ($18.00)
Tossed with prawns, squid, crab meat, salmon, olive oil & parsley. Choice of white wine or tomato sauce.
Yet again, the ingredients were very generous. There were huge chunks of salmon fish in the pasta to munch on. Even though the pasta was quite pricey, it gives the consumer a sense of satisfaction till he slurps the last strand of pasta down his throat :)
Fish 'n' Chips ($14.00)
Deep fried fish fillet in egg batter served with fries and salad
The Fish n Chips was served with two huge chunks of fish fillet and chips. Even though the size huge, the batter used wasn't that appetizing to the look and even to the taste. The fish fillet was kinda soggy after I was done with the photography. As compared to other fish n chips that I've tried elsewhere, it is hard to give two thumbs up for this dish in this restaurant. I am sorry but the egg batter was bad.
